Dr. Paolo is originally from Northern Italy. After spending his clinical year at Cornell University in New York, he graduated from the University of Parma, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He worked in private practice in Italy for two years before moving to the United States for advanced training. Dr. Paolo completed a residency in Livestock Reproduction and Herd Health at the University of California Davis. As part of the residency program, he was trained in embryo transfer and other advanced reproductive technologies for all livestock species, including cattle, small ruminants, and swine. He also completed a Master in Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM), which reinforced the use of epidemiology, applied biostatistics, and on-farm data for managing large California dairies.
Following academia, he worked as a private practice dairy veterinarian in Eastern New Mexico and Northwest Texas. Dr. Paolo moved to Wisconsin in 2019 where he worked as a solo private practitioner in Lena for three years before joining Valley Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Paolo has a passion for helping dairy farms by employing his advanced clinical techniques and affinity for evidence-based medicine in order to solve herd-level problems. He lives in Peshtigo with his wife, who is also a veterinarian.
